Democratic Candidates for President in '08

This is part one in a series of installments on the 2008 Presidential Candidates. I'll start with the Democrats, since that's what I am.

Joe Biden - Biden is a lawyer by trade, and currently the senior senator from Delaware. He serves as the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and has served on the Judiciary Committee.

Upsides - Has important diplomatic and judiciary experience.

Downsides - Sometimes ignorant or intolerant when it comes to minorities, and I don't care for his track record on the war.

Hillary Clinton - Clinton is also a lawyer by trade. She is currently the junior Senator from New York, serving since 2001. She was the First Lady and the junior Senator from New York for 17 days in 2001, a first. She is also the 1st former First Lady to be elected to Congress.

Upsides - Her name is Clinton, she has good name recognition. Strong track record on health care, her and her husband started many initiatives while he was President. She is fiscally responsible, voting against W's 2001 tax cuts, and she is very vocal about human rights.

Downsides - Her name is Clinton..., she flip-flopped on the war, and she doesn't think too highly of young people.

Dennis Kucinich - Dennis Kucinich is the representative from Ohio's 10th District. Willie Nelson throws him a fundraiser every time he runs for President. That probably means Kucinich is for tax and marijuana law reform. That should be enough said. Kucinich is by far the furthest to the left of any of the current Democratic candidates. He has consistently been against the war and sent a letter of intent to his colleagues in the House letting them know of his intentions to file impeachment proceedings against the Vice-President. If they would give him the Democratic nomination, I would vote for him. He is everything I want in a President. They won't, so I'll vote for Clinton.
