More On McDonald's Fat-Boy Meals

Hey, what do you know? McDonald’s is removing the trans-fat from its oil. Funny how realizing your corporation contributes to the leading cause of death in the United States (and that it might be held culpable) will motivate change.

We all agree that the Golden Arches is *not* the destination of choice for consumers looking for a healthy, well balanced meal. Bill Maher probably says it best in his book New Rules, “If I want to eat healthy, I’ll go to a place that serves actual food.” Is that what McDonald’s really wants us to do?

Why not build a dollar menu around the new food pyramid guidelines? Offer fresh fruits & vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean meats, all for a buck. I want cheap, convenient, *and* healthy all in one package. It seems a corporation like McDonald’s would have the resources to pull that off.

So, thanks for removing some of the fat you’ve artificially added to my food. Let me know when it’s finally safe to eat at your restaurant.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking "never" is going to be when McDonald's has a safer menu.
