Finally a polling company proves what I and liberal media outlets have been saying forever. The American People do not support the Iraq war. A poll conducted by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation shows that 57% (+/- 3%) support a bill with funding for the war that has timetables for withdraw. It seems as if W feels like we're his slow witted children and only he knows what's best for us. We've spoken, listen to us...
We overwhelmingly voted in November 0f '06 on the issue of the war. We elected anti-war senators and congressional representatives. We don't need W telling us he knows what is best for us. He works for us. Let me quote the Preamble of the United States Constitution...
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
This paragraph is the single most important part of the Constitution. It vests the power of the Federal government not to the Executive (The President), not to the Several States, or even to the people of the Several States, but to an entity known as The People of the United States. That's us, we've spoken. No more war.
