News Roundup Wednesday 5/16/7

These are the things you should really be reading on your own. Do I have to do everything for you?

Several people complained about there being no News Roundup for Tuesday. All I can say is, hey, I have a job. I do what I can.

Important Stuff

World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz is currently negotiating his resignation as the President of that esteemed body. Wolfowitz has been accused of nepotism when he allegedly used his influence as the President of the World Bank to secure a pay raise and promotion for his companion, World Bank Senior Communications Officer for the Middle-East and Northern Africa Shaha Ali Riza (ed's note: Props to the RZA, my shizza!!!).

Breaking News!!! During the writing of this post, ABCNews.com reported that Wolfowitz will not resign and will push the issue in the form of a vote by the World Bank Board. To stay on top of this story, follow this link.

The U.S. Senate rejected a bill that would require all U.S. Troops to pull out of Iraq by March 31, 2008. Instead they have embraced a Republican sponsored bill that would require Iraq to show progress or be denied additional aid and U.S. Military support.
