If you'll indulge me, I'd like to quote Joni Mitchell. I promise this is going somewhere...
"By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half-a-million strong; and everywhere was a song and a celebration. And I dreamed I saw the bomber death-planes riding shotgun in the sky; turning into butterflies above our nation.
We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion-year-old carbon; and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden."
Keep up hope. If you follow the in-line links, you'll see that ending this war is within our grasp. Things are changing for the better every day. The President's approval rating is way down, UFPJ has 1300 member organizations with hundreds of thousands of members, there are anti-war protests across this great nation daily; we can end this war soon. Write your congressional representative and tell them that you would support them in the impeachment of the President and Vice-President. Let's get this show on the road.
You are ancient, you are divine and you are wise. Let's use that to our advantage instead of bringing us closer to the brink.

Some insights into the song Woodstock...I'll try to just hit the main points.
"We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion year-old carbon"
This appears to be about the origin and nature of man. We are composed of relatively rare elements: carbon, oxygen and nitrogen; heavier than helium and hydrogen (the most common elements in the universe), so the elements that biological life are composed of is from the hearts of the stars, expelled 500 million years after the big bang. You are ancient. You are divine.
"...and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden"
Joni Mitchell's call for peace on earth, referencing the Garden of Eden, the last time (anecdotally) that there was peace on earth and goodwill to men.
"And I feel myself a cog in something turning..."
Joni, as I do, felt as if she is nothing but a cog in a giant machine. This seems more true today than it ever has. We're just numbers, let's change that.
"And I dreamed I saw the bomber death-planes riding shotgun in the sky..."
She dreamed of a day that the Dept. of Defense was actually for the defense of our country, and not to intimidate our neighbors into doing what we will them to.
"...turning into butterflies above our nation."
Joni Mitchell was a proponent of the movement to create a Department of Peace cabinet postion/department. Again, she dreamed of the day when we could use our luck and mighty power to help the worled, instead of forcing our will, ideals and morals onto others.
